HISTORY AND PRESENT ACTIVITIES

Raiganj Diocese invited Vincentian Congregation to open a house and a retreat centre at Chopra in 2010. On 13th January 2013, Fr. Cherian Pulikkunnel and Fr. Paul Pulickathadathil arrived at Chopra and started of the construction of the Vincentian House and retreat hall.  Most. Rev. Alphonsus D`Souza SJ, Bishop of Raiganj Diocese blessed Vincentian House and retreat hall On 5th December 2013 and Very Rev. Fr. Varghese Parappuram VC Superior General inaugurated the house and Very Rev. Fr. George Arackal (Sr.) VC, Provincial Superior inaugurated Bible Convention by lighting the candle. Residential block for Divine Voice Retreat Centre was inaugurated on 1st October 2016, which named after St. Theresa of Calcutta.  His Excellency Stephen Lepcha, Bishop of Darjeeling blessed the residential block which was inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr. Mathew Vattakuzhy, the Asst. Superior General.

From the beginning onwards two sisters from Congregation of Teresian Carmelites (CTC), help us in our ministries. Besides, Daughters of Cross and two sisters from Bhopal and some volunteers are assisting in our programme. All together we are twenty two in number. In Divine Voice Retreat Centre we have perpetual adoration and everyday intercession for the whole world. One day programme are conducted in different languages namely, Bengali, Hindi, Santali and night vigil on every first Saturday. Here we conduct residential retreats in six languages and also special retreats for priests.
