Description

HISTORY AND PRESENT ACTIVITIES

In 1998, two of our missionaries Frs. John Puthussery and John Karukapallil arrived in Khammam diocese. Fr. John Puthussery took charge of Penubally Parish and Fr. John Karukapallil took charge of Julurupadu parish which was bifurcated from Kothagudem parish. Both the priests were living in rented houses in their respective places. In August 2001, Fr. John Karukapallil was relieved from pastoral work in Julurupadu Parish. Fr. John Puthussery purchased the land for Penubally parish. Foundation stone for the Parish Church was laid on July 27, 2001 and the Church was inaugurated and blessed by Bishop Paul Maipan on December 06, 2003. Penubally Parish has 5 sub-stations, and 150 families enrolled. The foundation stone for the Japamalamatha Grotto was laid by Rev. Fr. Francis Naduviledath, the Regional Superior and was opened by Very Rev. Fr. Paul Puthuva, the Provincial Superior and was blessed by Bishop Paul Maipan Paul, on June 11, 2012.
