On the concluding day of the Popular Mission Retreat at Kodancherry parish in Thamarassery diocese, people came with a request to our superiors for a Vincentian House around that area. The Congregation took it seriously and started looking for a suitable plot of land. Since Congregation could not find a suitable venue at Kodancherry, it purchased a piece of land at Puthupady. About 8 acres of land was purchased and registered in the year1986 and Rev. Fr. George Pottayil was appointed to execute the project. In 1986 Mar Sebastian Mankuzhikary, laid the foundation stone on the very day of his installation as the Bishop of Thamarassery. Within 1½ years both the Vincentian house and the church was ready for blessing. The Blessing and inauguration was on 19th March 1988 by bishop Mankuzhikary.

The Jubliee Retreat Centre was started in 1994 when Rev. Fr. Paul Parekkattil was the Superior of the House. It was during the time of Fr. John Cheriavely, the facility for the Retreat Centre was constructed by the name Jubilee Retreat Centre for residential retreats. On Tuesdays and Fridays there is one day program and twice a month there is residential retreats at this Centre.

From the establishment of the Vincentian house in Puthupady onwards, our priests were looking after the spiritual needs of a number of families around the Ashram. We had been instrumental in organizing them as a local Catholic community. Taking this into consideration and in concurrence with the Province, Bishop Mar Paul Chittilapally elevated the church of the Vincentian House to a Parish Church on 2009. Fr. Romulus Nedumchalil was appointed the first Parish Priest. About 100 families are enrolled in the Parish.
