Christu Jyothi Mission- Administration
Christu Jyothi Mission is a dependant Region under St. Thomas Province of Vincentian Congregation. The Congregation extended its mission works to the diocese of Meerut in U.P. in 1989. The Bishops of Agra and Bareilly were also invited us to Uttar Pradesh (U.P.). Soon we started more houses and activities in U.P. In order to coordinate the missionary activities in U.P., it was raised to a dependent mission called Christu Jyothi Mission and a Mission Superior was appointed. Now 14 fathers are doing ministry in this mission. The following are the centers and main missionary activities in Christu Jyothi Mission:
1. Aonla - Vincentian Ashram, Bareilly Road, Sangrampur, 243301, Uttar Pradesh.
At present we have the Vincentian Ashram and the Ashram chapel is used as parish Church. In the parish there are six Catholic families and one substation having five Catholic families. We were running a boarding for boys and this year we converted this to our first year minor seminary for North-Indian students. Near to our Ashram, Holy Family sisters have got a convent, one health center and one School up to twelve.
2. Bilari - Vincentian Ashram, R.N. Sahaspur, Chandausi Road, Moradabad, 202 415, Uttar Pradesh.
The De Paul English Medium School started in 2004 is functioning in this mission centre.
3. Bisauli - De Paul School, Bilsi Road, Budaun Dt., 243720, Uttar Pradesh.
Here we have started an English medium primary school in 2015. It is in a rendered building. We have purchased a plot of land for the school and just started the construction.
4. Budaun - Vincentian Ashram, Catholic Church, Police Lines Chowraha, 243601, Uttar Pradesh.
Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Patric Nair, of Agra Archdiocese had invited us in 1991 to look after the spiritual and social needs of the people lying scattered in Budaun District, the farthest and most undeveloped area of the Diocese. We have the Christ the Redeemer Parish Church here. Rev. Sisters from Noida Province of Franciscan Clarist Congregation joined with us as a core team to support us in our pastoral and educational activities. We have De Paul English Medium School of Intermediate status in Budaun. There are four Hindi medium junior high schools being run in remote villages to uplift the youngsters of the marginalized for a decent social and civic life. The evangelization of the poor through education is literally going on in villages through the Hindi Medium schools where we are in touch with two thousand poor students, by way of providing free quality education to the marginalized in the remote areas.
5. Chandausi - Vincentian Ashram, Baniakhera P.O., Dewarkhera, Moradabad Road, 202412, Uttar Pradesh.
We have started this House in 1990 in the diocese of Meerut. The Ashram is now used as the parish Church. Only five Catholic families are here. S.H. Sisters of Delhi province are running an English medium school here.
6. Meerganj - Vincentian Ashram, Churai Road, Bareilly Dt., 243504, Uttar Pradesh.
This Ashram is established in 1997 under Bareilly Diocese. This is a parish having four families. We started the Novitiate House of the Province in 2016. At present we have ten novices here. FCC sisters of Bareilly Province have their formation center for aspirants here.
7. Veerpur - Vincentian Ashram, De Paul Nagar, Veerpur, Dhan, 244001, Munda Pande, Moradabad Dt., Uttar Pradesh.
We have the St. Vincent de Paul Church with three village sub stations Udampura, Barbala and Deolari. S.H. Sisters of the Jeevan Jyoti Province, New Delhi are working with us in the pastoral, social and educational fields of the mission. Social welfare also is a part of the mission. The beneficiaries are selected without any discrimination of caste and creed. The uplift of the weaker sections of the society and women and child welfare get special attention.
